Julia has a busy practice in all areas of family law and represents clients from the County Court to the High Court. She has extensive experience representing local authorities and parents at all stages of public law proceedings including emergency applications, interim and final care orders and designation hearings.
Julia has also assisted in complex care cases in the High Court involving issues such as extensive medical evidence, sexual abuse and child witnesses. She assists with the cross-examination of paediatricians as part of the Royal College of Paediatricians and Child Health expert witness training.
Julia regularly acts in private children cases from FHDRAs through to final hearings and also appears in appeals, occupation order hearings and non-molestation order hearings.
Julia also accepts instructions in financial work such as First Appointments, FDRs and oral examinations of assets and has appeared in the High Court in international abduction cases.
Prior to coming to the bar, Julia worked at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Mishcon de Reya in employment, finance and banking litigation. She also used to work in Berlin in international relations and for an MP in London.
