Undertakes both defence and prosecution work. Instructed in the full range of criminal cases, but deals particularly with matters involving fraud, serious violence and drugs.
Piers is particularly interested in matters concerning local government and democracy, including electoral offences, and has extensive experience of prosecuting for local authorities including cases involving benefit fraud, trading standards, food hygiene and health and safety matters.
Piers has an extensive family practice including all matters involving public and private law Children Act proceedings. He is able to bring significant experience and understanding to the difficulties and anxieties felt by parents at risk of losing their children whether through separation or the instigation of care proceedings.
Piers has a developing practice in immigration law.
